"Lil Girl Stella Meeks"

On October 5th I was officially named 'Lil Girl Stella'.

When I came to Finders Keepers and did not have a name for a few weeks, Mom Mary Ann and Auntie Connie would call me 'Lil Girl' to get my attention. They decided that should be my name and then added 'Stella' for a middle name so they could use it when they were mad at me for doing silly things, like chewing something up, or dragging things around that I shouldn't. Lora Lowe submitted the name 'Stella' because of the movie "Street Car Named Desire".

I want to thank you all for your ideas for a name and am proud to tell you that $50.00 went to buy dog food for the Three Rivers City Pound. Please remember that you can adopt great cats and dogs. I am the best example!

Right now I am not going to work because Mom Mary Ann said that they are to busy getting ready for their Holiday Open House at the shop. I would really like to be there to help them, but, I get too easily distracted and would rather play than work. So I am at home guarding the Meeks house, chasing bugs and butterflies and playing with my two new brothers, Bam & Boots.

Remember:
Our Holiday Open House is this weekend
November 6 & 7
Friday & Saturday
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Have a grrrrrreat day,
Lil Girl Stella

NAME OUR PUPPY CONTEST

One super hot sunny Saturday an adorable, little, black & white female puppy trotted across Finders Keeper's parking lot headed toward the busy (and quite dangerous) Highway 281. Knowing the dog would probably be run over if it wandered onto the highway, Mary Ann(yes she does have a soft heart) rescued her.

The puppy was wearing only a flea collar with no form of identification. The collar was so tight around her little neck that Mary Ann couldn't fit a finger under it; and the puppy was infested with fleas & ticks anyway. On Monday Mary Ann contacted City Hall to let the city animal control know she had this stray. She waited 72 hours to see if anyone would claim this puppy and no one did.

As you may have guessed, the puppy has stolen the hearts of the Meeks family and the gals at Finders Keepers. I, Lacii, have become the puppy's "Auntie". The problem is that no one can agree on a name for the poor, little pooch. Mary Ann's solution: hold a 'Name the Puppy Contest' and allow one clever customer to name her. That's where you come in.

Submit one suggestion (per customer) in the comment section, email it, or offer your suggestion in person on your next visit to Finders Keepers. Remember to put your name so you will get credit.

Deadline for entry is Oct. 1, 2009

Winning name will be announces Oct. 5, 2009

For every name submitted, Finders Keepers will donate to the City Pound $1.00 toward the purchase of dog food. Also, if the name you suggest is chosen, you will receive a $50.00 gift certificate to be used at Finders Keepers.

Ready, set, start naming.

In May our Miss Adrianna Rodriquez graduated from Coastal Bend College. Of course we were there to watch her walk across the stage. She has moved to Corpus to finish up at Texas A&M University. We miss her at the shop but wish her well in her new endeavor. We hope to see her smiling face during the Christmas holidays! We love you 'A'.

Personalized Self-Inking Stamps

This is one of my favorite finds at Dallas Market.

Founded in 2005, Three Designing Women introduced the custom stamp concept to the marketplace. The product’s overwhelming popularity jump started the company into the business of manufacturing high-end, quality stamps with an edge of sophistication and flair. Now offered in more than 40 designs, the stamps are most commonly used for return address, but the personalizing applications are endless – From the Desk of, From the Library of, This Book Belongs to, From the kitchen of, Save the Date, a birth announcement, and so much more. Three Designing Women also offers a line of inSTAMPables, fun, design-driven stationery that is intended to be personalized with the stamps. The line has evolved into a complete personalization system. Featured on NBC’s The Today Show multiple times, ABC’s Good Morning America and in publications like InStyle, Better Homes & Gardens, Redbook, Modern Bride, Brides, Southern Living and Country Living.
